The Feminine personal style category is the most talked about fashion topic among women.  Many say they do not like lace and ruffles, dismissing the look as if these are the only ways to express their femininity. How wrong they are.

The key to looking more feminine is choosing clothes that fit your body type and personality.  Details are important in helping to accentuate your positive attributes like the leatherette flounce hem skirt I am wearing from Evan-Evina. It accentuates my hips and the hem flatters my legs.  I added an oversized boyfriend style shirt which is a common piece in my wardrobe.

To embrace femininity, I finished the look with a smooth wave hairstyle, red lipstick and stiletto heels. A softer look outfit with no lace or ruffles included.  This outfit is my own personal choice of style.  If red lipstick and stilettos are not to your taste,  your options can include flats and more natural lip colours. Your look will still embody femininity. Do not shy away from styles you have not tried before because you may think they are too girlish.  Give them a go and style them your way.

The stripe trend has always appeared every season but thanks to two of my favourite designers Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors who both have created a collection based on bold stripes, it is set to become one of the strongest pattern trends for 2013.

Whether it be horizontal, vertical, thin, thick, black, white or colour, stripes make a graphic statement day or night.  It is best to stick with simple, modish silhouettes and monochrome or primary colour combinations.Since vertical stripes enhance the appearance of height, they are the best type of stripes petite women should wear. Chevron or other asymmetrical stripes can also be flattering. Stylists normally recommend that we skip

wide horizontal stripes, but if you choose the right style,  it can compliment your look just like the top I am wearing from Beginning Boutique.

So remember not to over do it and do not be afraid to experiment with your stripes.  It can be challenging at first but once you get more experience, it will come quite  naturally.
